Lois Charlean Browning (King/Baker) passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born in a bungalow on Corbin Street in Detroit, Michigan on May 24, 1933. Lois was the daughter of Henry Fletcher and Audrey Naomi King. She was a fraternal twin, bringing a unique joy to the King family. Lois excelled academically, graduating in the top ten of her high school class. Lois lived in Michigan most of her life but chose to relocate to East Tennessee with her second husband Lee in the 1990s. Lois and Lee later moved to Pataskala, Ohio. Her final days were spent in Goodyear, Arizona, surrounded by the support of her children following the loss of her husband, Harvey Lee Browning, in October 2025.
Lois was known for her sweet nature and good humor. She worked as a secretary for Ford Motor Company for over thirty years, at one time serving as administrative support in the office of Lee Iacocca. She was valued for her organized, neat, approachable demeanor.
Lois was a skilled pianist and she taught piano to children and sang solo at weddings for a time in her younger years. Her talent for drawing was exceptional but was sadly untapped as she devoted most of her free time to her family. She loved to read a good book and had a passion for dancing, enjoying polkas and learning clog dancing in Tennessee.
Lois' presence will be missed dearly, as she was truly irreplaceable. In addition to her late husband, she leaves behind four children: Ronald Baker (the late Mary), Suzanne Toon (Sam), Lynne Baker (Michael Bramonti), and John Christopher (Michele), four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are three stepchildren: Mary Kelley (Scott), Lynn Starzyk and Jack Browning (Annette) and their families.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Hospice of the Valley, who contributed much to her care in her final months.
