Lucie was born in Lillebonne, France on November 3rd,1927. She was one of eleven children born to parents Marie (Thibault) and Edmond Billaux. Growing up in a large family instilled in Lucie how important family is, and she displayed this throughout her life with her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved being around her family.
Lucie valued education and enjoyed reading in her free time. She also liked shopping, even if not buying anything, she liked to go window shopping. She loved fashion and had great style. She always wanted to look her best.
She was the devoted wife of 57 years to Earl W. McKean. They had a special bond from the moment they met in Normandy during WWII. Earl was in the Army and Lucie in high school. Even in this difficult environment and with a language difference they managed to build a beautiful and lasting relationship.
After the war Lucie came to America and they started their family in Gilpin Township, PA. Lucie found great joy in her two sons Earl (Janis) and Eric (Debra). As the family flourished, her joy and happiness grew with the addition of her grandchildren Tammy, Maria, Erin (Matt Deal) and Michelle (Victor Barrios) her great grandchildren Katelyn, Evan, Vanessa, Ava, Mia, Brayden, Chase, Ryley, Faith, and Ashley and great-great grandchild Turner. After her husband’s passing she moved to California and then Arizona to be close to her family.
Lucie was pre-deceased by her parents, her siblings and husband.
She will be missed and held in loving memory by all who knew her.
The family would like to Thank VIP Assisted Living Staff and Premiere Hospice for her personalized care.
