Michael Dominick Accomando Jr., age 93, passed away on April 25, 2026. Born on November 17, 1932, in New York City, New York, Michael was the son of Helen and Michael Dominick Accomando Sr. He was a resident of Surprise, Arizona.
After graduating high school, Michael enlisted in the Navy, served overseas, and was awarded the National Defense service Medal as well as the European occupation medal. Through years that asked much of him, he met each season with resilience and steady resolve, carrying forward a faithful and independent sense of duty and purpose.
In his early working years, Michael was a machinist, a foundation that led to a career as an operating engineer in the architectural maintenance industry in California. He was hard-working and notably organized, bringing care and order to the responsibilities entrusted to him and earning the respect of those who worked alongside him.
Michael married the love of his life in his early years, Lenore Cecile, and together they welcomed their daughter, Elaine Mary, whom they loved and cherished. His devotion to family was constant and deeply felt, and he will be remembered as a cherished presence in the lives of those closest to him.
Michael’s interests reflected both joy and tradition. He took pride in his Italian heritage and especially loved Italian food. He appreciated a good laugh and found comfort in the music he enjoyed, including Neil Diamond, Nat King Cole, and other artists from the 1950’s—sounds that often seemed to bring warmth and familiarity to the day.
A man of Catholic faith, Michael carried his beliefs with quiet sincerity. Michael’s memory lives on in the hearts of all that have had the privilege to know him.
