

Born and raised in Benton City, Washington, in 1945, Michael grew up in the small town where his father, Carlton, worked for The Hanford Engineer Works. In the 1960s, Michael moved to California and joined the United States Marines Corps, serving honorably in the Signal Corps during the Vietnam War. In 1966, he married Martha Muceus, and they had two children: Kristian Carlton and Michele Anne. Michael worked as a bank investigator throughout the country, living and working on both coasts. He was well-travelled and loved spending time on his boat, “La Contenta,” first in Corpus Christi, Texas, and later in the Sea of Cortez. He loved sailing and spending time outdoors with his son, Kris, an avid rock climber and mountain biker. In 1993, Michael married Judy Sadler. He spent his retirement years in Prescott Valley, AZ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Virginia; his brother, James; his son, Kristian; and his wife, Judy.
He is survived by his daughters, Michele Holland of Prescott, AZ, and Julia Postlewait of Spokane, WA; his sisters, Suzanne Hahn of Arlington, WA, and Jeannie McKelvie of Mesa, AZ; his granddaughters, Ellen and Rachel Postlewait of Spokane, WA; his stepdaughter, Kimberly Connelly of Surprise, AZ; his beloved cat, Noah; and an extended family.
