Patrick Alan Blair, affectionately known as Pat, was a beacon of light and life to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Born on April 7th, 1960, in Hebron, Nebraska, to the late Noel Dean Blair and Inez Mae (Cole) Blair, Pat's journey through life was one marked by love, adventure, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. His passing on May 4th, 2025, in Goodyear, Arizona, has left a void in the hearts of many, but his legacy continues to inspire.
Pat's life was one characterized by devotion and a strong sense of duty, which was evident from his decision to join the Army after high school. His service to his country was a source of great pride and laid the foundation for his admirable work ethic. Following his military service, Pat embarked on a career with Pennzoil in Salt Lake City, where he honed his skills and workmanship.
It was not long before Pat's passion for the open road led him to a career in truck driving, starting with J.C. Bangeter and Sons. Which led him to move to Arizona. To have more family time, he began working for Otto Trucking, operating belly dump trucks. The entrepreneurial spirit within him sparked the creation of Pat Blair Trucking LLC, a venture he proudly managed for a decade. His career in transportation continued as he joined Interwest Transportation in 2012, and later, in 2021, worked for Mountainland Transportation, where he enjoyed the friendship and challenge of pulling flatbeds and end dumps.
Pat's personal life was as rich and full as his professional one. On August 13th, 1982, he married his soulmate, Patti (Roberts) Blair, and together they embarked on a 43-year-long journey of love and companionship, having dated for five years prior. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Courtney (Blair) Bourgeous, and son-in-law, Shane Bourgeous, who brought immense joy and pride to Pat's life.
A man of many interests, Pat's love for the outdoors was unmatched. He cherished camping with his family in the Arizona desert, taking every opportunity to explore the terrain on his RZR. Winter days were often spent riding with loved ones, enjoying adventure. Each year, he and Patti celebrated their anniversary in Marysvale, Utah, where days were spent riding in the mountains and evenings were reserved for stargazing from the patio. These moments were treasured chapters in a life filled with warmth and happiness.
Pat's friendly demeanor made him a friend to many. He was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, especially to those on the road. His handy and adventurous nature made him a go-to person for anyone in need. Pat's legacy is not just in the work he did or the places he visited, but in the countless lives he touched with his kindness and his open, friendly spirit.
As we bid farewell to Pat, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with laughter, love, and a passion for new experiences. His memory will continue to guide and comfort us, just as the stars he so loved to gaze upon. Though he has departed from this earthly journey, the stories of Pat Blair will remain, forever etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
