It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Leo Lambert, who died at hospice on November 29, 2024, at the age of 88. Born in 1936 to Adler Lambert and Mildred Gausselin Lambert, Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a cherished friend to many.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie, and their four children: daughter Kim, sons Jeff, Mark, and Joe. He was also a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He cherished the time spent with his family, and his legacy of love and laughter will live on through them.
Richard graduated from Grant High School in 1954, where he was a proud member of the school’s basketball team. He went on to have a distinguished career as a carpenter for over 40 years. One of the highlights of his career was working on the Sears Tower (now known as the Willis Tower), which was the tallest building in the world at the time.
Outside of work, Richard had a deep love for family gatherings, especially extended trips to Las Vegas, where he and his family would take over the craps table, drawing attention with their laughter and celebratory spirit. He also had a sweet tooth, particularly for chocolate, and would hide his favorite treats in his toolbox—a secret discovered by his daughter, Kim.
Richard’s warmth, humor, and generosity made him beloved to all who knew him. He was a man of integrity and joy, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 West Bell Road, Surprise, Arizona, 85374 on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Following the service, all are invited to Marge’s house for Food, refreshments, and memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America in Richards honor, https://myasthenia.org/support-the-mg-community/make-a-gift/ways-to-give/.
