Bob was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, and son Anthony (Glenn) Torres, sibling's brothers Luciano "Buddy" Torres, Daniel Torres, sisters Alice Torres and Nettie. Bob graduated at Los Alamos High School where he was involved with the track team and various other sport activities.
He loved to listen to good music, dancing, fishing and traveling, watch the latest release of new movies, and check out good eating restaurants. He enlisted with the Navy and left for Boot Camp at the age of 18 and was stationed out of San Francisco, CA. The Navy took him to Hawaii (his port of call) which led to his love of travel to various countries (Australia, New Zealand and Japan) and it continued to Mexico, Europe, and Thailand in later years.
After serving in the Navy for 4 years, he worked as a landscaper for Los Alamos Golf Course and he also drove a delivery van for Wells which serviced various vending machines as he awaited a job at Atomic Energy Commission in Los Alamos, New Mexico working in the Fire & Security Department. While working at Atomic Energy Commission (for approximately 6 years), an opportunity presented itself when The Boeing was down doing recruiting for qualified personnel to move to Washington state. So, in March of 1966, him and his family (Patsy and his sons Robert and Anthony) moved to Renton, Washington. He started work on April 6, 1966 at the Boeing Renton Plant and later transferred to the Boeing Auburn Plant working grave yard shift until retirement on January 1, 1993 serving 27 years as fireman and union steward. He met and married Karen Hilleren June 16, 1979 while working at the Auburn Plant. After reaching full retirement age Bob brought up the idea of moving. So, in October 2002 they bought a house and moved to Arizona where he lived till his death.
A celebration of life will be held later with friends and family at a later date.
