

Bob was born in Fall River, MA, January 22, 1943 to Vernon and Elizabeth (Watters) Wordell and was raised in nearby Little Compton, RI. He loved his native state and shared many childhood memories with family and friends.
He joined the Air Force in 1966 and proudly served his country for eight years. He was stationed in Roswell, NM, Rapid City, SD and Guam. Upon his discharge he moved to Denver, CO. He was married in1987 to Nancy Fredling, who preceded him in death. In 2014 he was married to Barbara Fierro and together they moved from Colorado to Surprise in 2016.
Bob was an avid stamp collector, a hobby he shared with his mother as a child and continued to enjoy throughout his life. He accumulated an impressive collection over the years and enjoyed communicating with many fellow Philatelists. Another of Bob’s passions was genealogy, leading him to many interesting discoveries. He was a walking encyclopedia and especially had an endless knowledge of songs, artists and their backstories. His laugh was contagious and those close to him understood and mostly appreciated his sense of humor.
Bob was a certified Optician and worked in and managed several optical businesses in the Denver Area.
Barbara and Bob travelled extensively and enjoyed the opportunities that retirement gave them.
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He demonstrated his love through frequent phone calls, text messages and social media so that family and friends could know his thoughts, feelings and opinions. He spent endless hours each day with his dog, Livi.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, sisters Mary Marchetti, East Dennis, MA, Alice Beattie, Tiverton, RI, Rita (Richard) Segal, Tiverton, RI and one brother, Lesley Wordell, Manchester, NH. He was close to his many brothers and sisters-in law. His surviving children include daughters, Melisa (Jerry) Stanley, Abbeville, LA, and Elizabeth Guarino, Cottageville, SC, and stepchildren Rob (Debbie) Fierro, Sedona AZ, Rick Fierro, Platteville, CO, Jay Fierro, Platteville, CO, Lori (Shad) Storm, Rapid City, SD and Jeff (Lindsay) Fierro, Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brian, Rebecca and Kaylyn, fourteen step-grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Dorothy, and his wife, Nancy.
His ashes will be buried at Black Hills National Cemetery in South Dakota. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
