Mom was a vivacious soul with a huge heart who will be missed by us, her many friends from around the Lower Mainland and relatives in Ontario.
Born in Brantford, Ontario to Joseph Cronk and Hazel Anguish, she came to BC in early 1957 with her young family. As we grew, Mom took on part-time, and then full-time, work at Woodward’s and enjoyed her time at both the Downtown and Oakridge locations. Before and after retirement, Mom had many hobbies and activities that kept her busy with family and friends, including her Stitch and Chat group, the Guildford Mall Walking Group, going to movies, square dancing, reading, cooking, knitting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mom was a huge supporter of the Toronto Blue Jays, and this love of her baseball team grew to being the local statistician for the entire League. Once the annual baseball magazine came around in the spring, she spent many hours recording all of the trades and statistics for each player, adding her own pages to the magazine so that she had record of the entire year for every team.
Pre-deceased by her second husband, Jim Wood, Mom is also survived by her sister Marianne Southby (Jacksons Point, Ontario), her grandchildren David Janzen (April), Melissa Ellix (Arthur), Nicole Imai, Michael Imai, and her great grandchildren Emma, Alyssa and Derek Janzen. We join our family together in celebrating the wonderful woman that we were lucky to call Mom. Special thanks to Mary Anne Olk for her special friendship and care of our mother, especially in the past few years.
In lieu of flowers, we welcome donations to Mom’s favourite charities: C.H.I.L.D. Foundation, CNIB and Canadian Diabetes Association. Service at a later date will be arranged by First Memorial, Fraser Heights, Surrey.
With much love from her children, Vicki Kendall, Janis Bossenberry, Robyn Kendall (Bob Jackson), Lori Imai (Ron), Dean Kendall (Melinda).
