It is with deep sorrow that we share the death of our mother Beryl Lang of Delta, BC (formerly of Courtenay, BC). She had the ambitious goal of celebrating her 100th birthday, however when her desire to live independently become impossible, she quietly closed her eyes for the last time on September 15.
She was predeceased by her husband Lyall (2011), two brothers, three sister in laws, and four brother in laws and many cousins. Mom you outlived them all! Survived by your children Ken (Ingrid) Keith and Karen (Bill Speer); Grandchildren Tara (Jamie), Jill (Tony) and step Grandson Brit Speer (Janeen); six great grandchildren; eight nieces, and three nephews.
Mom was born and raised in Montreal. She also lived in Nassau, five provinces and France. She made a special home for her family, where ever her husband was stationed as a member of the RCAF.
She will be remembered for her volunteer efforts, her love of music, theatre, opera, travel, and of course her fabulous baking. Her passion for reading lead her to become a librarian. She truly was a special lady, living her life with grace, style and dignity.
The family would like to thank the staff of Augustine House, and the Delta hospital for the care.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Afterglow
I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
of happy times and laughing times,
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun,
with all the happy memories
that I leave when my life is done.
