Carmine is lovingly remembered by his wife Luigina (Linda) of 48+ years; their son Adriano, daughter-in-law Mandy and grandsons Luca and Nico; his brother Gerardo and family in Italy; his brother Nunzio and family in Germany; his mother-in-law Maria, with whom he spent many hours playing a card game of "scopa." Remembered fondly by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
Carmine was born in Altavilla Silentina in the province of Salerno, Italy. He was a Master Tailor by trade and later a successful, talented, and convincing salesman. He emigrated to Germany, a few years later to Montreal, and eventually made his way to Vancouver. He fell in love with the beaches and mountains which reminded him so much of his birthplace. Carmine didn't like to stay in one place for too long and made the decision to move to his next adventure in Australia. However, one evening in a popular Vancouver Supper Club, he asked a young lady to crawl under a table to dance with him and they've been dancing ever since.
Carmine loved to travel, engage in many different sports (tennis was his favourite), cards, chess, and of course, dancing. He was an avid reader and spoke five languages. He would constantly challenge himself to learn and master something new.
Carmine's favourite thoughts: "you are not a tree," "enjoy the journey," and "live today because you don't know what comes tomorrow."
Carmine will be remembered and laid to rest on April 22, 2021, privately with family.
