Condolences to Michael and family. 

Cheryl's daughter Lucy was one of my best childhood friends and some of my fondest memories are my weekend sleepovers and playdates at the Hampers' home.  Cheryl always greeted me with such warmth and kindness.

I am so sorry to hear of Cheryl’s passing. The Hampers lived across the street from us in Lantzville for many years and they were great friends and neighbours. My daughter Adrienne and her daughter Lucy were close friends through elementary school. I have many good memories of both Cheryl and Lucy. Gone way too soon.

It was very sad to hear of Cheryl's passing. I was extremely fortunate to have worked with Cheryl for a long time at the Hudson's Bay.  I will always remember her wonderful sense of humour and her laugh. She had the ability to lift up the spirits of all her co-workers whenever she was on shift.

I had some fun times with Cheryl and will always remember her lovely smile and wonderful sense of humour. Our family loved her from the first time we met her and always will. ❤️

Adding this photo to show people what Cheryl’s little sister, ‘Kelly Estelle’ looks like and her family is not forgotten. Cheryl and I were very close talking several times a month.  I miss her deeply and dearly, forever in my heart.

Taken when Michael, Cheryl  & Lucy visited us in the UK.  A wonderful couple of weeks with lovely lovely memories.  This was taken on a trip to London.

Today, May 21st would have been my dear sisters 71st birthday.
Today it is raining very hard...even the sky is crying with me.
 She would have loved to see all the glorious flowers that are out now, all around and in her and Michaels backyard area.
How to put in words how much I miss her is just an unbearable feat, so I'll say that Cheryl was a friend, a confidant, a good listener, a talented sewer, an artist, a unique eye for what works and what doesn't, insightful, comforting, a caring aunt to her nephew Elton, and my email "buddy"....sending such hilarious gifs that lit up my day.
 But mostly and will always be ,my twin like sister, with me in spirit as I travel thru the rest of this adventure called life.
Till we meet again ..TaTa, Arrivederci, au revoir mon a mi , Pip pip , and Cherrio, my dear Che chey la femme :>

And here we are , out to dinner at a local Greek Restaurant, a favourite cuisine of us both. Being with my sister I was never lost for good conversasions, that often had periods of big laughs! Her quick wit and "robust" sense of humour was just part of who she was. She could also be sympathetic and a deeply caring individual.  Perhaps too sensitive at times, to outside turmoils, worldly woes, and family dilemmas, but always true to herself. Wasn't afraid to speak her mind and had the smarts to back it up! :)

Cheryl and I were visiting our dear Nana Rogers at her Toronto apartment , where we loved to "ham" it up for her and her neighbours she would invite over for tea and cookies.
Please note ,we were as per usual ,in those early years, dressed alike, which made for confusion from friends of family and strangers alike ...that no were were NOT TWINS...even thou we always had a twin like bond, in our interests and "fashion sense" :)

One of many wonderful memories of Cheryl-
I visited Mick and Cheryl in 1980 when we were all young and carefree. We drove south from Vancouver in a Ford pickup with a slide on camper. That was for Mick and Cheryl. A nylon tent was Colin's accomodation
We reached San Francisco, excited to be in such a happening city. We went to a lookout. Cheryl had me pretend to smooch a viewing binocular and took a photo, which I still have.
We went skiing in Tahoe- beautiful blue sky and sunshine. We had a ball.
Such a happy trip. We were so youthful-three people having a great time.
Many other happy times together with the add-ons of partner and children have created a treasure chest of lovely, warm, fun-filled memories.
Cheryl was such a creative person and fun, too, with a distinctive laugh that was frequently heard when in her company. I will miss her warm personality and hugs.

Fond memories of meeting up with you and Michael at Ferguson Point, Vancouver a few years ago. Sad we won't get the opportunity again.

Memories of Cheryl-
A warm, loving, generous person who loved to have fun. 
I remember our visits with Mick and Cheryl in  Nanaimo being full of laughter-the game with pass the vegetable and each person having to make believe it was something else, the mini golf, the camping trip to Tofino. We often laughed till our bellies hurt.  
And then when I found out my sister was ill, having been diagnosed with cancer while we were all together with Steve and  Geri in Wales. Cheryl's hug made me feel like I was being enveloped in a blanket of love. 
Your physical presence will be missed but the memories will remain

The first time I met Cheryl was at our family home in York, England. I remember how attractive she was with her long dark hair. I thought that Michael and Cheryl were a very handsome couple!

I met Cheryl only a few other times over the years but she was always so lovely, kind, thoughtful and had a great sense of humour. 

I know that Cheryl loved her family, had good friends and we loved her as part of our family too. 
She will always be remembered.

So sorry to hear about Cheryl’s passing. I will always remember the great memories we had working together while at Hudson’s Bay. Not sure I would have survived all those crazy retail events without Cheryl’s sense of humour and support. Much love to all her family in a time of grief. She touched many souls. I hope she has the biggest craft room there is up there with the big guy. 💙💙

Cheryl and I knew each other from the days of working at Eatons.  I remember her as a glowing mother to be when expecting Lucy.   She was always very well thought of by everyone and much valued for her dry wit and her quick ability to "tell it like it is" We worked together for several years in the China/Gift Registry departments of the Bay and I do not remember ever having a disagreement only shared laughter.

Michael, my heart truly goes out to you.

I had the privilege of working with Cheryl in the China and Gift Registry Department of The Bay for many years.  We had such a great team - Nadja, Kelly, Gertie, Janaya, Diane, Dee, Melanie, Cheryl and me.  We had so much fun - Cheryl always had us laughing.  But we were more than co-workers.  We were, and still are, friends.  Good friends.  I have so many wonderful memories.  Road trips to Victoria, trimming the Christmas tree for Diane and Roy, birthday lunches and dinners.  Cheryl had a refreshing way of looking at the world - it was full of flowers, colours and textures for her.  It was wonderful to see things through her eyes.  A lot happened during those years, and we were there for each other for all of it.  I can't believe we have lost her.  I will miss her always.  My heart is with you Michael.

I first met Cheryl in 1976.  Mick and I had been travelling across Europe for that summer backpacking. It was one of the most memorable times in my life; two young men hitchhiking, camping and having a true adventure.
My adventure ended in Venice, lack of funds meant I had to return home to the UK. Mick travelled on to Crete where he met Cheryl and started what would be an inseparable relationship.  They stayed in the UK for a while and had an apartment in Farnham. I would treat them to the latest YES album or The Eagles. I think that’s why they moved to Canada, to get away from my music! 
Over the years Mick would pop back on family events and he and I would hook up with an old work colleague Roger Lee.  I was lucky enough to travel to Nanaimo with my wife Julie and spend some time with them and Lucy. Last year Mick and Cheryl came over to the UK and we had an all too brief catch up before they were off to Liverpool to meeting up with family.  Both Cheryl and Lucy will be greatly missed and we cannot begin to feel the hurt my friend is going through right now.
