David Robert Drummond

1946-2018

Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Dave leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Val; son Dan (Katie), daughter Christy; and grandson Tristan. He also leaves behind his sister Sheila Saunders; niece Liz (Keith) Paynter, nephew Brad Saunders; mother-in-law Daintre Riffel, and brother-in-law Jim Riffel. Dave was predeceased by his father Robert Drummond, mother Eileen Drummond; father-in-law Fred Riffel; and brother-in-law Rick Saunders.

Dave’s childhood was spent in the lower mainland, moving briefly to Smithers and returning to White Rock in 1970. It was then that he began his 30 year career with BC Tel/Telus. Upon his retirement he took on the role of caregiver to his only grandson.

Many thanks to our friends and family for their ongoing love and support. We are also thankful to Bayshore homecare, White Rock Homecare Palliative Nurses, and to the Delta Hospice (Irene Thomas).

A private celebration of Dave’s life is being held at a later date. Donations in his name may be made to either the Delta Hospice Society or to BC Mental Health.

We will miss his quirky ways, his big, kind heart, and his wicked sense of humor. Rest easy Dad, we love you.
