I've known David somewhere in 1980-81-82  in The Netherlands  

I was deeply saddened to hear about Davids passing, so young he was.  
My condolence to his wife and family.
All the things I read about David in here I recognize.
I've got very nice memories of him and the fun we had with other people; 
although of course my world - and his one-  kept spinning around all  those years.
He loved cats too as I remember. I take care of straycats still.

Dear David, You were a great friend, a thorough gentlemen, always with a desire to help. You came to my aid many a time when I was lost within regulations. You came along with your wry sense of humour and the answers. I always would tell my colleagues and friends that you slept with the Solas manual under your pilow as you knew the rules like the back of your hand.

Go in peace my friend into a friendlier and more understanding world. Our fondest memories are always with you in your new world.

To Lori and family, deeply sorry to hear of his passing, my sincere condolences, he was a very respected colleague and friend.

David was an excellent and dedicated    Engineer for the Master and will be greatly missed by the  Master Society for all his hard work and knowledge

My sympathies to David's wife and family.  David enjoyed coming onto a ship to get aquainted with the machinery and crew.  He knew most of the crew by name.  David was a very interesting person and very through in his job as inspector.  He was very helpful in many situations during the times our paths crossed.

David was such a well rounded person, kind, elegant and charming, with a playful boyish grin and ever-present quick wit.  He brought smiles to people's faces and was always ready to lend a helping hand.  His beautiful spirit will stay with all of us.  Thank you David.

David was a quiet and true gentleman with a big heart.  A devoted husband and friend who will be missed.  I still see him waltzing down to the pool in Mexico at 5 p.m. exactly with his martini's for Lori and himself.  To Lori and David's family, I hope all the wonderful memories will be of comfort during this sad time.

   David was an honest and devoted man with very deeply ingrained morals and standards that directed him in his personal life and in his career. All that knew him would agree. His passing feels surreal and weighs heavily. Go with your wolves my friend.

I enjoyed and considered Dave as a friend, colleague and shipmate. Dave was a wealth of knowledge which he enjoyed sharing. With his dry sense of humour he would always  direct me in the correct direction if I had a question. Thank you for your advise and direction, you will be missed.

To Lori and family. Sorry for your loss. I worked with David at BC Ferries. A great shipmate. I also learned a lot when dealing with David when he was with Transport Canada. He will be missed.

We didn't talk as often as we should have but we knew David was there.  It seems so strange that now he isn't.  David was a man of principle and a stand-up guy.  He set very high standards for himself. 
We always felt that Dave was family and we think he felt the same.  We are so happy that he met LoriAnn. He was very happy for the past 10 years with Lori and his precious kitties.  He was happy just shopping for dinner and doing his chores.
Goodbye friend.  We'll meet again.

We worked together in Jacksonville, Florida for a number of years in the 90's. He was an outstanding workmate, an excellent engineer and good company with a rather wicked turn of phrase. WE enjoyed his excellent imitations on the phone of a foreign person needing a surveyor, or with an garbaled technical query.
So sorry for your loss and wish that we could be present with you all for the service on Monday.

David and I were firm friends, I was really sad to discover this.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and Lori. Don and Dee Soutar, Florida.

To David's family, we are so sorry for your loss. David was gentleman and a true professional in every sense and he gave freely of his knowledge and experience. My favorite memory is of watching him at the throttle and answering the telegraph in the Engine Room of the SS Master. He was truly in his element. We shall miss him dearly.
