March 1, 1934-March 27, 2015
Dad passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Westminster to Lottie and Granville. During the war years he was brought up by his grandparents, and they had a major influence on his life.
Dad grew up excelling in team sports and whatever passion caught his eye, he gave it his all.
Dad joined the Canadian Air-Force and while stationed in Winnipeg, he met and married the 'love of his life' Sheila (Terri). He brought Mom home to the West Coast where they built a home in Surrey, raised 5 children and until Mom passed away 3 years ago, were together for the next 57 years. They were a tremendous part of the lives of each and every one of their 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Dad was a devoted family man, and in any crisis we could always count on him to come through when he was most needed.
One friend of Dads that must be acknowledged is Bud Wood. For 75 years, Bud and Dad were best pals sharing all the challenges and celebrations of lives well lived. Bud was, and remains, part of our family.
Dad is predeceased by his parents Granville (George) Ratcliffe & Lottie Evans (Bill) his grandparents Robert and Effie Wright and sister Maxine (Ted). He will be sadly missed by his children; Rob, Dean & Sally, Darrell & Joan, Donna & Terry, and Wendy, and his sister Yvonne & brother in-law Alec Pont. As well as his grandchildren Brandi, Danielle (Randy) Shela, Kate (Guy) Meghan, Trevor, Laurel, Lyle, David (Bailey) Devon (Kelly) Jeremy (Katie) Amanda (Kyle) Kyle, Darrell (Anna) Chelsy, Samantha (Mike) and Great grandchildren Deina, Danny, Taylor, Manny, Laylah, Alysha, Mackenzie, Josh, Hailey, Henry, Bennett, Cache, Rosie, Hunter, Jaxon and one Great Great grandson Malakai. and nephews Wayne Galbraith (Mary) Mike Galbraith.
