

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Irene Stuart (nee Molyneux) on Monday, September 30 at the age of 93 years.
Denise is survived by sons Jeff (Surrey) and Lorne (Calgary), grand-daughter Janna (Calgary), step-brothers Ken Molyneux of Maple Ridge BC, Brian Molyneux of Vancouver, brother in law Douglas Stuart (Anne) of Burlington, On along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Denise was born in Winnipeg in June 1931 to Mable and Thomas Molyneux and spent her childhood there. Denise was an avid speed skater as a youngster. She joined the Dominion Bank where she met her future husband, James Keith Stuart. After getting married in June of 1956, they lived in Winnipeg in their early years.
Denise and Keith welcomed their first child in the spring of 1961, Jeff. Keith was transferred to Atikokan, Ontario in 1962 and soon after they welcomed their second child Lorne in fall 1963.
Keith was transferred back to Winnipeg where they lived until a transfer to Regina in spring of 1973. They resided in Regina until Keith’s retirement in 1987. They relocated to Surrey BC
in spring of 1988. After a brief stop-over in Langley BC, they returned to South Surrey in 2009.
During their retirement Keith and Denise spent time travelling including visits to California, Florida, Alaska, Texas, Fiji and New Zealand, England & Scotland.
Denise spent several years as a volunteer at Peach Arch Hospital in White Rock during the early years in South Surrey. It was also her favourite charity. She was recently honoured at a luncheon for over 30 years of consecutive donations to the foundation.
Keith passed away in 2014 and Denise continued to live in South Surrey until her death in 2024.
No service will be held due to Denise’s wishes. A private family memorial service will be held at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 28 Avenue in South Surrey on October 18 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation in White Rock.
