We are sad to announce the passing of Doug at the age of 91. Doug was predeceased by his wife, Pauline, daughters Evelyn & Mavis, parents Arthur & Marie and siblings Art & Ruth. He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Ethel, daughter Valerie (Dave), son Mel (Paula) & many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Doug was born in Summerland, then with his wife, Pauline, moved to Vancouver & later to White Rock to raise their 4 children. During WW II, Doug served overseas in the Canadian Armed Forces and was stationed in Holland. He then worked as a truck driver in Vancouver for many years with Johnston Terminals until his retirement. His family is grateful to the staff & caregivers at Langley Gardens & to Dr. Don McDonald, his colleagues & all the nurses on 2 South at Langley Memorial Hospital for the special care & compassion shown in his final days. Rest In Peace, Doug … we’ll miss you! A memorial service will be held at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 28 Avenue, Surrey, BC on Friday, May 13 at 1:00 pm.
