Frank passed at the age of 91, with his loving wife Muriel (nee Gibson) of 68 years at his side. He left this world in peace and with no regrets. Frank was born in Stonewall Manitoba, to William & Rose Annie Else, the youngest of 5 children. He grew up in Chilliwack and Vancouver, where he and his older brother Bill took over the family business “Quick Service Hardware” on Dunbar Street. Frank took pride in his work, and always went that extra mile (literally) to serve his customers. At the age of 23, Frank married the girl of his dreams, and never had eyes for anyone else. Frank and Muriel raised 2 sons, Allan (Barbara) and Richard. He was a loving and devoted Grandfather to Brandon and Kevin, who will forever benefit from the wise and loving influences he set for us all.
Frank lived life to it’s fullest. He was semi-retired by 45 and able to enjoy many, many, many rounds of golf – a game that he ate, drank, and slept. When “rained out” from the course, Frank enjoyed woodworking in his garage, hence the many backyards in Surrey now graced with his hand-crafted birdhouses & birdfeeders. He was good natured, with a loving heart, and will be missed by all who knew him. Frank was blessed with good health, until dementia took hold of his last few years. The family would like to thank the staff of Care Life Fleetwood, Spruce Unit, for their kindness, care and attention to Franks needs.
Frank was predeceased by his brothers Bill (St. Albert Alta) Robert (Detroit MI) and sister Doll (Vancouver). He is also survived by his sister Olive (White Rock) numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
There will be a private family (and never ending) Celebration of his Life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favourite charity, raise a glass, or play a round of golf in Frank’s name. He’d really love that.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.firstmemorialsurrey.com for the Else family.
