Born in Woking, Alberta, Gilbert built a life defined by hard work, determination, and devotion to family. Over the years, he lived in Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Alberta; and later Richmond, British Columbia, embracing each chapter with steady resolve and quiet strength.
Gilbert was a skilled electrician, a businessman, a home builder, and an investor. He took pride in his work and in the homes and opportunities he helped create. His entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic were hallmarks of his life and a lasting example to his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Agnes Kollmuss. Together they shared a love of golf and travel, creating many cherished memories over the years. Earlier in life, Gilbert was an avid sport fisherman, often spending peaceful hours on the local waters with his family fishing for salmon — a pastime that brought him great enjoyment.
Above all, Gilbert was a devoted family man. He is survived by his children, Gerry (Sabine), Tony (Gayle) and Colleen (D’ Arcy) and by his grandchildren, Nicholas (Kourtneay), Curtis, Ryan, Trevor, Riley, and Haden.
He will be remembered for his strength, and love and devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the family he cherished.
Dad will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
