Passed peacefully in his 85th year, January 2, 2014 in Peace Arch Hospital White Rock, BC. Predeceased by his parents & brother Phillip (Suzanne). Survived by his wife of 59 years Lorna, children Katharine (Terence), Michael, Joanne (Robert Weckworth), two grandchildren & 1 great grandson. Also survived by his family in Montreal, sisters Huguette (Henri) Parizeau, Micheline Frigon & Marie-Therese. Born in Montreal December 21, 1928, Gil joined the RCAF at 19, worked surveying the Arctic DEWLine for the Canadian Government, flying with crews in Lancasters and B-29s. He served 35 years with RCAF NORAD divisions in Senneterre QC, Port Arthur ON, North Bay ON, & Tacoma WA. Though he enjoyed many passions, his biggest love was golf, playing his final game in 2012 at 83 yrs. Gil's volunteer work included serving on the board of Semiahmoo House Society in White Rock and canvassing for the Kidney Foundation of BC. Kind thanks go to the 4th Floor Medical staff at Peace Arch Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday January 17 at 1:00 pm, Victory Memorial Funeral Centre 14831 28th Ave, Surrey.
