Govindbhai Vasanji Topiwala

On the morning of Saturday, May 7th, Govindbhai Topiwala passed away peacefully with his family by his side. We are very grateful for the overwhelming support that we have received as we grieve the loss of our beloved Papa.

Govindbhai was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1938 to his parents, Jayaben (Jelliben) and Hargovind Vasanji Topiwala. After meeting his wife, Lilavatiben, he moved to Mbale, Uganda where he worked as a supervisor of a textile mill. Following the birth of their third daughter, Govindbhai and Lilavatiben moved to Canada where they had their youngest daughter and settled themselves into a better life for their family.

Lovingly known to many as Topi, Govindbhai took much pride in serving his community. He was always willing to lend a hand in any way that he could. Our Papa’s priority was ensuring that he could make a difference in the lives of every individual that he met, up until the very end.

Govindbhai’s family finds peace reflecting on our time, as we know he lived a life full of love, happiness and pride.

The funeral service for our Papa will be held this Friday, May 13th at 9:00am for those who wish to pay their respects.
