Iain McGregor

Iain was born on September 25th 1962 in Bellshill, Scotland. His family immigrated to Canada when he was 5 years old. They lived in Winnipeg for two years before moving to British Columbia. His father’s employment took them to several parts of British Columbia before settling in the Lower Mainland. Iain had a natural talent for the game of golf as a youngster and played every chance he got. He was a member at Newlands Golf Club in Langley where he won several Club Championships. He was fortunate enough to find employment at Fraserview Golf Course, in Vancouver, where he worked for the last 26 years. He loved his job and the people he worked with and was well liked by the golfers. He was enthusiastic about the Fraserview Junior Golf Program and was always willing to help the young golfers in any way that he could. He spent a lot of his spare time playing golf or hanging out with his buddies, watching sports on TV.

He leaves behind his father Duncan who is in a Nursing Home in Calgary and his aunts, Irene and Margaret, in Hamilton, Scotland. He will be greatly missed by them and his long-time friends Anne and Lee as well as his many co-workers . He is fondly remembered by the members of the Fraserview Ladies and Men’s Clubs as well as the Tuesday Ladies group and all the other golfers who had become his friends.

Iain passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home, on January 2rd from Congestive Heart Failure after being hospitalized for three months.
