

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ian in the early morning hours of March 12th after complications due to a brave three year battle with cancer.
Pre-deceased by his grandfather, Otto Bauer and stepfather Delbert Vader. Ian's wife Lisa and daughter Katelyn mourn the passing of their beloved husband and dad. He will also be missed by his mother Louise Vader, in-laws John and Johnna Kristensen, brother-in-law Les (Val), nephew Matthew and niece Meaghan, extended family, friends and his constant companion, his dog, Brodie.
Ian was born in Burnaby, BC. Grew up in Vancouver and then Surrey. As a teenager he enjoyed playing football for the Surrey Rams. He was an avid fan of music and hockey and spent many hours enjoying both. Throughout the years, Ian had many creative pursuits, such as playing guitar, painting and photography. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed great times fly-fishing in the Interior of BC or riding local trails on his mountain bike. Ian and his family had taken many vacations together and the most recent trips to the Caribbean and Mexico will hold special memories.
Ian started his 30 plus years in construction working in Whistler and the Lower Mainland. He joined Polygon in August of 1989. Making his way to quality supervisor to site superintendent. Responsible for building many of Polygon's successful communities. He was very proud to work for Polygon and had forged many friendships with co-workers and tradespeople.
A Celebration of Ian's Life will be announced at a later date.
