Born in Montreal, Quebec, Ian was a proud graduate of McGill University. He began his career with John Deere before transitioning into the forestry industry, where he successfully operated his own business. Ian was admired for his dedication, work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Above all else, Ian was a devoted husband, father, father in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Judy, his daughters Carolyn (Andrew), Gayle (Bob), and Andrea (Brian), his grandchildren Khea (Laurence), Riley, and Courtney (Andrew), his great-granddaughters Peyton and Emma, and his granddog Bentley.
Ian’s greatest joy was his family. He never missed a ballet performance, was a dedicated softball coach for his daughters, and was always present for his family—offering encouragement, love, and laughter. His unwavering support and warmth left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Elim Village for their compassion and care. Your support brought comfort and dignity to Ian’s final years.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Ian’s memory by spending meaningful time with those you love. #InHonourOfIan
