Hi my name is Yves Paquette I am a cousin of John from Quebec province,his mother was a sister of my mother.I give to all the family my sinceres condolences.I did'nt see him for a while but I knew he is in peace now.

For 30 years John has supported me. From never missing a lacrosse practice or being at every game. Wherever it was, he would make the trek. John alway's stayed positive and encouraged me through all of my employment.  John helped me through two apprentiships and for 13 years kept Wow contacting going with his positive attitude.  I could never thank John enough for what he has done for me and how much I love him. My life is what it is because of him. I don't know how John did what he did but the whole family was brought up to be Montreal Canadians fans. Still makes me laugh! As life roles on, I will have countless ways that John's legacy and spirit will live with me every day. He will always be "old man" to me and I have appreciated every moment we had together. Hope hes watching me from where ever he is and no matter the place, time or amount of beers its still " the first one today!"

Old man, it is with a lot of difficulty that I try to convey my thoughts to you in words. You entered my life when I was a toddler and chose to be a father figure in my life. Your love for my mother was irreplaceable and I thank you for giving her the best days of her life. To select one word that can accurately describe your personality would be "Gregarious", this is because you were always the light of the room and the center of the party. Growing up I always admired how you could easily make and hold friends with your outgoing personality and with respect. The measure of a father is highlighted by the actions during the crucial years of someones life, If it wasn't for your drive and care I would not have turned into the man that I have become. I would have never served my country and I would have not met the love of my life. I know that you  were upset that you could not see Xander and Ronan grow up, but I will do my best to instill the same parenting principles that made you a great father. My family will miss all the camping trips with you, all the Christmas's with you and most of all, your guidance and love. I love you so much that you have awakened portions of my soul I thought were dead. You died as you lived, surrounded by love.

John it has been two weeks since you have passed from this world, and from our lives. I have spent many hours trying to get my head around this, and have come to the realization that you are not gone. You are in my thoughts, all the time. You are in my heart and will be until my time comes to join you. 
You are still here with me at the cantina in Playa del Carmen where we got our picture on tequila bottles. Or tossing a ball on the beach in Wood Lake, or any of the dozens of great memories that we shared.
As long as I have those memories then you will never be gone.  This is also true for all of the other people who's lives you have touched. You will live on for all of us, because you have enriched all of us more than you could ever know. Be at peace my friend.
