Lena Eija Marja Robertson, age 81, of Langley, passed away on June 8, 2023, at Langley Memorial hospital after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Lena was born on September 5, 1941, to parents Erkki and Irja Danielsson in Kouvola, Finland. The family then moved to Sweden where her sister Ann-Marie and brother Arne were born. After graduating college in Sweden with a degree in languages, she started her first job as a translator, Lena was fluent in 5 languages. Soon after, Lena seized an opportunity to train as a stewardess and was quickly hired by Canadian Pacific Airlines (CP Air) kickstarting an amazing career while enjoying traveling the world.
Lena married her first husband Yves Cellier in 1965. and they settled in Ontario, Canada and Lena retired from flying when they adopted Christina. The family then moved to South Surrey, B.C and adopted Veronica. Lena and Yves later divorced, and Lena married Peter Robertson in 1985. Lena worked for the B.C Lottery Corporation for decades until her retirement in 2006. Lena and Peter enjoyed many years together, traveling, going on cruises, and being a part of their religion called Eckankar until Peter’s death in 2012.
Lena was predeceased by her parents Erkki and Irja Danielsson, and her husband's Yves Cellier and Peter Robertson. She is survived by her sister Ann-Marie Hultqvist (Christer), brother Arne Danielsson (Monica), daughter Christine Andersen (Randy). Lena is also survived by her grandchildren Jamie Cellier, Kevin Cellier, and Jay Winther.
