Luzia’s warm and bubbly personality touched the hearts of many, whether in Portugal, Montreal, Ottawa or British Columbia. Her laughter was frequent and contagious, and she would smile readily whenever a visitor dropped by, even when not feeling her best. She was always more concerned with the needs and feelings of others than with her own.
Luzia had a way of truly appreciating the moment, no matter what the circumstances. She would wear her jewellery and lipstick daily, because every day was worth celebrating. She enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music, sometimes while colouring and humming along.
Luzia loved flowers and flower arranging. She enjoyed reading and was a wonderful storyteller. She was curious and creative, and was known for making the best pudim francês ever. Luzia had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, even as she approached 90.
Luzia was an exceptional human being who inspired, and will continue to inspire, all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service. The date and venue is yet to be confirmed.
