Man Shun Luk

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Man Shun Luk, a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kit Ping, and his daughter Kelly (Bernard).

Man Shun was born in Hong Kong and later moved to China to pursue his university degree, where he spent over twenty years. In his forties, he returned to Hong Kong with his wife and daughter. Those early years were challenging, marked by a lack of local work experience and limited finances. Determined to create a better life for his family, Man Shun taught himself English by listening to BBC radio each night and attended night school to earn his translation diploma, all while working as a labourer during the day. Through sheer perseverance, he completed his education and went on to build a successful career as a translator and instructor. His students remembered him fondly as a fatherly figure—kind, caring, and always supportive.

Man Shun retired and relocated to Vancouver in 2001, where he delighted in visiting parks, traveling with his wife, and cherishing time with his family. In his final years, he faced the challenges of Multiple System Atrophy, which affected his mobility and eventually confined him to a wheelchair. Yet, even then, his determination shone through as he practiced walking with his walker to maintain his independence for as long as possible. His gentle nature and unfailing politeness endeared him to everyone, making him a favourite among the residents at his care home.

我們懷著深切的悲痛，宣布摯愛的丈夫及父親陸汶遜的離世。他留下了相伴55年的愛妻潔萍，以及女兒Kelly和女婿Bernard。

陸汶遜生於香港，其後移居中國攻讀大學學位，並在那裡度過超過二十年。在四十多歲時，他與妻子及女兒返回香港。那些早年的日子充滿挑戰，因為缺乏本地工作經驗及有限的財務資源。為了為家人創造更好的生活，陸汶遜每晚收聽BBC廣播自學英語，並在白天從事勞工工作的同時，參加夜校取得翻譯文憑。憑藉堅強的毅力，他完成了學業，並繼續發展成功的職業生涯，成為翻譯員及講師。他的學生們親切地記得他是一位慈父般的人物—善良、關懷且總是支持他人。

陸汶遜於2001年退休並移居溫哥華，在那裡他樂於遊覽公園、與妻子旅行，並珍惜與家人的時光。在他晚年，他面對多系統萎縮症的挑戰，這影響了他的行動能力，並最終使他需依賴輪椅。然而，即使如此，他的決心依然閃耀，他練習使用助行器行走，以盡可能長時間維持自己的行動力和獨立性。他的溫和本性和一貫的禮貌，使他深受眾人喜愛，成為護理院中最受歡迎的住民之一。
