Marjorie Jelly (née Edwards), beloved mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born in Vancouver on June 20, 1923, and passed away peacefully on May 31, 2016. She married the love of her life, Roy Jelly, in 1949, and together they raised two daughters. In 1962, the family moved to White Rock, where with Roy, Marje established herself in the community, notably by supporting Roy as he founded the Peace Arch News. All her life, Marje faithfully served in the Anglican Church. She enjoyed bridge and golf with her many friends. She will be remembered most for how loving and generous she was to her family. Predeceased by her husband, Roy, Marje will be dearly missed by her daughters Diane Bain (David) and Eileen Bentley (Rick); grandchildren Mali, Sarah (Andy), Peter (Melissa), Josh (Melissa), Luke (Sharon), Joel (Lauren), Joanna (Andrew); and great-grandchildren, Keanna, Tevin, Oliver, Evan, Hannah and Hayden. Many thanks for the kind care of her support workers and most recently the staff at the Residence of Morgan Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Memorial Fund or charity of choice. Memorial service: Church of the Holy Trinity, 15115 Roper Ave., White Rock, Friday, June 24 at 2pm.
Arrangements under the direction of Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, Surrey, BC.
