Roy is survived by his sons Sean (Kate), Kevin and Eric, their mother Karen and grandson Dylan. He is also survived by his brother Michael (Verna) and his niece Robin.
Roy grew up in Vancouver and spent his career working for American Can Company (later known as Ball Packaging).
After retiring in 2011, he spent his retirement enjoying fishing and many weekends on Bowen Island with his good friend Brad. It seemed like they were always working on an outboard motor trying to get it fixed.
Roy was close to his sons and a friend to many; he was willing to help anyone in need.
One of Roy’s favorite pastimes was being with his grandson; Roy was very fond of Dylan, dedicating a day each week to spend with him. They did everything from homework to activities or just bombing around in the sportscar.
Whenever asked how he was, his favourite answer was “I’m a ten”.
Roy looked forward to his fishing trip to Bamfield every year with the same friends. This was his last big catch just days before he left us.
We wish to thank the paramedics and the Emergency staff at Royal Columbian Hospital that treated Roy.
Roy's Memorial will be held at The Deck Kitchen & Bar Restaurant, 3500 Cessna Drive, Richmond BC, August 28, 2021 between 1 and 4PM.
