She was preceded by her father Albert, and her mother Mary. She is survived by sister Barbara Cramer (Bill); brother Bruce Withers (Nancy); husband Wes; son Scott; daughter Lisa & son in law Vernon Boudot.
Lyn and Wes were happily married for almost 49 years. Lyn & Wes were also blessed with three loving grandchildren; James, Jadyn, & Logan.
Lyn grew up in Burnaby, in and around Al & Mary’s orchid & flower greenhouses. After graduating from Burnaby South High School in 1965, she traveled to Whales, Great Britain and worked as a receptionist at a summer resort. She then returned to Canada & worked at several Vancouver flower shops. In 1969 Lyn graduated from Air Canada & worked as a stewardess, until she met Wes on a blind date. Lyn & Wes were married on 7 February 1970. Lyn spent 15 years working in the Safeway flower department. Then she operated her own flower business, until retiring in 2000.
The most important thing to Lyn was her family and close friends. She loved large gatherings (“a get-together”), the more the merrier! She took great pleasure in doing all the preparations herself, while hosting the event.
During retirement Lyn & Wes loved to travel. They completed 30 major trips (including 9 cruises) in 20 years & visited all the continents except Antarctica.
Our family would like to especially thank all the doctors, nurses & support staff at the Fraser Valley & Vancouver Cancer Centers; Surrey Memorial Hospital; & Langley Hospice. These kind, dedicated people provided the best care possible & comforted Lyn to the end.
Lyn would say “Don’t shed any more tears, as I lived a wonderful life of 70 yrs. I was blessed with a beautiful family and friends, who remember all the good times we shared”. No Funeral, by Lyn’s request.
