It is with great sadness I say goodbye to the love of my life, my soulmate, my dear husband, Norm.
Norm Victor Tyler, 86, avid genealogist, gardener and cook, passed away after a lengthy illness in Surrey Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, March 24.
This gentle, loving, caring, and wonderful man is survived by his family, his loving wife and best friend Penny, stepdaughters, Brie and Candice (Glenn), adopted daughter, Anna (Mike), son Luke (Melanie), granddaughters, Nyah, Jessica, Mia, Alex, grandsons, Dawson, Reese, Ryan, Parker, and Mason, and great-granddaughter, Heidi. Norm is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by son Mark, adopted son Roger and deceased son-in-law Stephen.
Norm spent his life as a hardworking man, employed by the B.C. Forestry service; B.C. Railroad; an entrepreneur owning a motel restaurant and working in Real Estate Sales; plus several other businesses. The smartest man anyone could ever meet, he could fix anything and do anything.
Norm’s passion was to travel. We had many camping adventures through Canada and the U.S.A. His favourite mode of transport was by cruise ship. We went to many places around the world.
Genealogy was another passion as he always wanted to research and help family uncover their history.
Norm had a green thumb. He truly loved to provide fresh veggies for us, family and friends. Bouquets of fresh flowers always graced our table. A favourite pleasure for Norm was to cook for family and friends. Holiday dinners were yummy.
Norm and I made many memories together that will last forever. I know everyone will remember him as a kind and loving soul. We will miss him.
Goodbye, my love ❤
