On November 10th, 2022, Patricia Woodward née Edwards passed away at 80 years of age. Pat was born on March 5, 1942, to Ada and Bernard Edwards in Manchester, England. She married David Woodward on February 14, 1962, and they started their life together by emigrating to Canada that same year. After a number of moves, the family finally settled in Surrey, BC in 1974. She is survived by her husband David, son Kevin (Susan), daughter Sarah (Dave), son Simon and grandchildren Andrew (Chantelle), Trevor (Maddie), Alison (Paul), Jennifer (Daniel), and Katherine (David).
Pat was known for her kindness and generosity. She was always willing to help and went above and beyond for her family and friends. She could often be found at her sewing machine, making beautiful quilts that she would donate or give as gifts. She excelled at any type of craft and loved any occasion that meant a card and gift. Pat was as generous as she was kind. She made baby quilts and knit clothes to donate to the hospitals.
She enjoyed spending time in the garden, with hummingbirds flying overhead, a cup of tea in her hand, and her radio playing. Being an encyclopedia of utterly useless information made her our Queen of Scrabble. She loved history.
Her dedication to her husband, children, and grandchildren was unwavering. She attended every soccer game, recital, and ceremony. She had a kind word about every person she ever met, and always managed to stay positive.
Even as her health declined, she maintained that she was “getting there” and met it with fierce optimism. Her love will be greatly missed.
Night Night and God bless Gran.
