Peter Maric

Peter was born in Visnjik, Bosnia-Hercegovina on January 19, 1940. After serving two years in the Yugoslavian military, he embarked on a lifelong career driving buses and highway tractor-trailers where he founded several successful businesses. Peter married Jessie in 1970 and then temporarily emigrated to West Germany, where they had their first son, Mike. They then moved to British Columbia, Canada in 1973 where they had another son and daughter, Dennis and Lori. Later in life Peter met his common law partner Angela, who resided together in Surrey, BC until his passing.

Peter loved country music, traveling and rebuilding old cars, especially Lincolns. He was always willing to help his friends and relatives. Peter had a witty sense of humor and had a kind smile.

Peter was preceded in death by his father, Ivan, his mother Anice, and brothers, Ivan, Ilija, Zvonko and Zlatko. He is survived by his common law partner Angela, ex-wife Jessie, sons Mike and Dennis, daughter Lori, brothers Marijan, Ivica, Mato and Nicola, and sister Ivanka.

A short viewing will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020 at 1:00 at First Memorial Fraser Heights Chapel at 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey, BC, followed by an intimate funeral service at 2:00 at the Valley View Cemetery at 14464 – 72 Avenue, Surrey, BC. Flowers can be delivered to the Valley View Cemetery prior to 1:30 on Friday April 24.
