He is predeceased by his father, Cyril Smith and mother, Gillian DeWarren Waller. Peter leaves wonderful memories of a short but happy life for his loving children, Halley Hall-Smith; Chelsey (Kevin) Bradley; Courtney (Wes) Lewis; Naomi Stedman and brother, Charles Smith.
He is missed by his grandchildren; Jacob, Mason, Rhian and Tamara. His life was further enriched by many caring friends, and neighbours.
Peter was a proud son of the UK even though he was born in Montreal, PQ. Raised in Ipswich, UK, he reunited with his father in Montreal during the 1980’s where he put his skills as a journey-man carpenter to work. He was very proud of being taught “Old School” in the UK. He eventually moved to Toronto and met Kelly Hall who fell in love at first sight when he dropped the words with his English accent “Hello Darling” they married and had 3 children together. In 1990 they moved to Ft. McMurray, AB and then to Vernon, BC, where he spent a good part of 20 years until eventually moving to Vancouver, BC.
Peter earned the nickname “Peter Pan” whose name he bears, from his loving mother and story teller, Gillian.
“You know that place between sleep and awake, that place where you still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you. That’s where I’ll be waiting.”
Until we meet again…we love you.
