Phyllis Margaret Scott was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend. She left this world on November 22, 2024 at age 80 after battling life long bronchiectasis.
Born to Anne and Paul Kowaluk on October 16, 1944, she was the second of three children, with older sister Evelyn and younger brother Ken. After graduating from high school, she followed in Evelyn's footsteps, and became an administrative assistant for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Dauphin, Manitoba. Phyllis was skilled in typing and shorthand, and excelled at working with others.
Phyllis followed her dreams and friends to Calgary, Alberta where she met RCMP Constable Ted Scott. She had a glowing smile and made an immediate connection with Ted. They were married as soon as they were permitted to, and had two children, Jason and Chantelle.
She loved spending time with family and friends, and would take her children to hockey, ringette, soccer, figure skating, dancing and swimming. Phyllis was also active in sports, loved to dance, and made a deal with Ted that she would learn to swim if Ted learned to dance. After practice and training, Ted could dance much better than Phyllis could swim, mainly because she never liked to get her hair wet.
Phyllis would put the feelings of others before herself, and had a kind heart. She has left an indelible mark of love on her family and friends. She is loved very much and will be missed dearly.
We would like to extend an invitation for family and friends to attend a service for Phyllis Margaret Scott. The funeral service will occur Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Victory Funeral Centre 14831 28th Ave, Surrey followed by a reception. For anyone wanting to pay their final respects there will be a visitation for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Peace Arch Hospital or the Canadian Lung Association on her behalf.
