Precila “Precy” Gill, devoted wife, mother, auntie and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 77 on July 20, 2025, due to preexisting health conditions.
Precila is survived by her loving husband Malkit, her son Michael and his wife, Jenny, and their children, Ava, Wesley and Nico, her son Robert and his wife, Amber, and their daughter, Estelle, and her niece Rannie and her husband Amar, and their children Sartaj and Jaitaj.
Precila was born December 7, 1947 in Kiambo, Cotabato, Mindanao, Philippines. She was the eldest daughter of Santiago Ramirez and Maria Ramirez (née Fernandez), the elder sister to her brothers Delfin and Caesar, and her sister, Jane, and the younger sister to her half-brother, Victor. To her family and friends, she was known simply as “Bing”.
In 1969, as a teenager, Precila had the opportunity to move to Canada, where she would come to reside in Winnipeg, Manitoba, surrounded by dear friends, and worked as a seamstress. She moved to Vancouver, BC in 1973, and found employment at Brother Jon’s restaurant in the historic Gastown part of the city.
Not long after, Precila would meet Malkit, they would marry, and start a family together, while residing in Vancouver’s East Side. Eventually, the family would settle in North Surrey, where Precila would continue to live for the duration of her life.
Precila’s life was one of quiet strength, enduring love, and boundless generosity — qualities she carried with grace across every season of her life. She will be deeply missed, and fondly remembered, always.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for Friday, August 1, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, with a reception to follow from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend, and join Precila's family in celebrating her life.
