It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rainer (Ray) Gustav Rothhauser.
Born on March 8, 1938, in Graupen, Germany. Ray passed away on September 12, 2025, at Langley Memorial Hospital in British Columbia. In his final hours, he was under the same roof as his beloved wife, Ingrid, and with his daughter, Corrina, by his side.
Ray was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 62 years, Ingrid; his cherished daughter, Corrina (Joe); and his adored grandsons, Mario and Gianluca, who brought him endless pride and joy.
His deep love for the natural world led him to immigrate to Canada, first settling in the Greater Toronto Area before the call of the rugged West Coast drew him and his family to British Columbia—a place that truly spoke to his spirit.
Ray lived life with passion and purpose. He found joy in photography, cooking, hunting, and camping—but nothing brought him more peace than fishing. He was never far from a story or a smile, especially when near the water.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (20676 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC) at 11a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Ray’s memory to the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation and/or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Ray’s warmth, love, and stories will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
