It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond S. Listwin, age 79, business man and entrepreneur. Raymond was born on November 4, 1932 in the City of Saskatoon, the middle son, of John and Anne Listwin.
Raymond was a passionate and determined man who never believed in failure. A passionate entrepreneur, Raymond started many businesses during his decades-long career. His first foray was into the dry cleaning business, Tip Top Cleaners, with his brother George. They subsequently expanded to build Capital food markets. Together with his two brothers, Raymond designed a new state-of-the art bottling facility for the families Pepsi franchise. Once completed, Raymond rebuilt a new bottling line in the old Pepsi facility and launched the Pop House discount bottler. Ian, Raymond's son-in-law, worked for many years along Raymond's side, producing quality discount pop.
Raymond's passions were his wife, Grace, family and business endeavors. When he wasn't working, which was rare, he enjoyed travelling to Maui in the Hawaiian Islands. Louise, Don, family and friends were always welcome on these trips which featured Ray’s famous barbequed King Crab legs.
A Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, Raymond, was generous to all, and always delighted in giving. As a family, our lives are so much the richer from his ongoing support and generosity. He will be greatly missed.
Raymond is survived by his daughter Louise(Ian), his son Don(Hilary),and his grandchildren, Kelly(Brad), Jessica(Geoff), Leigh(Zoe) and Craig(Shannon), Michael(Emma), Hunter and Chelsea; eight great-grandchildren.; 2 nephews, Todd(Tanya) and Craig(Dena); nieces: Eileen, Joanne, Charlene, Beverly, Lorraine and their families. Private family services will be held Thursday April 12th. Raymond’s final resting place is at Victory Memorial Park adjacent to his loving wife, Grace.
