Some 20 years ago I was living in this apartment downtown. The guy in the parking stall next to mine had this gold colored classic Malibu in mint condition. We would occasionally talk and admire each others rides, but never really got to know each other other than our brief parkade exchanges. I only lived there a couple of years and moved on. 10 years later I happen to wander into this bar on 109th called Martini's. I sit down at the bar and look to my right. This rail thin, scruffy looking guy looks back at me through squinty eyes, points his finger at me and in a hoarse gravely voice says "I know you!".  I point back at him and say "I know you!".  We spent the next couple hours talking about our cars and whatever else came to mind.  I got to know Ranger Bob quite well after that nite.  He was one of the most miserable, cantankerous, personable, generous, gracious and interesting people I've ever met.
Happy Trails Ranger Bob!  You will missed by many.

R.I.P. Bob!  Although we lost touch, I thought of you often! Much light and love on your new journey!!  Many hugs!

I first met Bob at Martini's in Edmonton and used to play pool against him. Anyway one night I guess he figured I'd beat him a little too much lately because he says to me this, "If you ever beat me again I'll take you out back." Well that sounded like he'd give me a whupping. Since i knew I'd beat him again and I have a wacky sense of humour I said, "Why wait?" Bob looks at me for a second and then he starts laughing and we got on well from that day forward. I'll miss you Bob!

Back in the early 70's  my cousin Bob  would often come out to our farm to help his uncle Earl out ( my dad). He was many years older than me, I was only 8 or 9, and to me he seemed like some kind of larger than life super cool wise cracking god, driving up in his vw beetle with his leather jacket and all his beer he would stuff in the fridge, much to my mom's horror. Later he helped my parents build their house and was always willing to help out.

I met Bob after I came to work for Forestry Lands and Wildlife in Edmonton about 25 years ago. One of the things I loved about Bob was that he got things done quickly and with no fuss, no muss. I remember how he'd shrug his shoulders, stuff his hands in his pockets, and smile innocently after taking one of his administrative "short cuts". Bob was generous with his help when I had a problem needing his expertise. We always shared a laugh or two at work when our paths crossed. My condolences to Bob's family.

I worked along side with Bob in the eighties @ Alberta Recreation & Parks and looked forward to seeing him every morning in the next office.  He had amazing ethics & commitment and was a real people person with an incredible dry sense of humour and cared for his friends.  I'm so sorry to read about his passing and he will be dearly missed. Bob left a positive lasting relationship with the lucky people he shared his life with.

My condolences to the Cooper family.  Ranger was a dear friend who I met at Martinis.  He "rescued" me in 2008 in Phoenix when I missed my flight to Cabos.  He treated me like Royalty.  He always booked my sedan service whenever he was going to the airport.  R.I.P. Ranger Bob

Goodbye Ranger Bob.  You will be forever remembered fondly by the old Martini's crowd.

In the years I knew Bob working with Alberta Parks he never failed to make me laugh with his dry witty sense of humour. I always looked forward to my meetings with Bob in the Edmonton office. My condolences to all of Bob's family,he will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Goodbye Old Friend. Bob was always ready with a helping hand with my lake projects. We shared many a joke and a beer together.

Though it has been 26 years since I last saw Bob, I will always remember his sense of humour & his professionalism.

Rest in Peace, Dear Bob.
