It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ross Eric Chapman, after a courageous 3 year battle with appendiceal cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Holly; daughters Melanie, Emily and Sabrina; mother Norma; sisters Susan and Karen; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ross enjoyed working in the family business at Optimil Machinery. In 2004, he stepped up and became president of the company where he skillfully led the team until his passing. Ross felt a deep connection to everyone he worked with and was proud of the impact he made.
Ross was a devoted husband and father, an avid soccer player and fan, boat lover and problem solver. He enjoyed family trips to Langdale, Hawaii and California and always cherished the Canucks and Whitecaps games with friends. He took great joy in coaching each of his daughters’ soccer teams and could always be found on the sidelines with a stash of candy in his pockets.
We thank all of the family, friends, colleagues and staff who supported and gave him strength every day in his cancer journey.
He will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him.
