Gilmour, Samuel John September 8, 1918 to March 24, 2011. On March 24 our dear father passed into the presence of his Lord. Sam was born on September 8, 1918 in New Stevenson, Scotland. He came to Canada as a young lad. Sam leaves his two daughters Averill and Lorna; grandchildren Deana (Steven), Danny (Tamara), Stephen, Kristina (Joe); great grandchildren Zachary, Kaedyn, Charlie, Shane, Samantha, and Bethany; sisters Sadie (Wes), May, Betty (Stan). Predeceased by his beloved wife Jennie. Sam worked for Air Canada from 1942 until his retirement in 1981. He belonged to 16th and McDonald Gospel Chapel. He was also dearly loved by all his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and they in turn will miss their Uncle Sam. A Graveside Service will be held at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Harbour Light Mission, 119 E. Cordova Street, Vancouver, BC V6A 1K8. God Speed Dad.
