Mom married her childhood sweetheart Kenneth George Edward Jones in 1948 and together produced six very fortunate children, Susan, Barbara, Shelley, Deborah, Tom and Sandra.
During their Burnaby years, mom and dad enjoyed many family birthdays, Christmas gatherings with extended family, family camping trips, and summers at White Rock beach and Birch Bay.
In 1976 Sheila and Ken moved to Victoria where they discovered their passion for fishing and boating. Their move to the island seemed to strengthen their bond with their children and their spouses. Many fond memories were made in their Rankin Road home.
Mom and dad moved back to the mainland in 1985, with mom living in her same home in south Surrey until her passing.
Mom loved travel. Her and dad travelled to Europe, Hawaii and motor-homed through the western United States. Mom visited eastern Canada and, later-on, travelled with her children to Las Vegas, Hawaii and enjoyed several trips to Mexico.
Mom loved mariachi music, the sun with her feet in the sand, fishing, gardening, bowling, cooking, quilting and Tuesday night stitch & bitch with her girls.
Mom always applied the same sense of style to her appearance, attitude and home. Everything was always very well put together.
Mom made every one of her children, their spouses, grand children and great grandchildren feel special.
