Shirley Edna McLean

Shirley passed peacefully at Ellen Sinclair Kennett Lodge by natural causes. Shirley is predeceased by her husband Ron 2015 and parents Jim 1968 Dorothy 1989 and twin sister Sheila 2021. Survived by Geoff (Janie), David, Liz, Doug (Lora). 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sister Barbara in Honolulu. Cousins, nieces and nephews from Hawaii, New Zealand, Vancouver Island, Okanagan, Alberta. Mom grew up in a CPR family, and enjoyed trains all her life.

She was very involved in BC minor Baseball and Hockey as a parent and executive until moving from Summerland. Mom loved her hobbies which included watching and playing curling. She often traveled with Dad to the UK, Mexico and Hawaii and for grandkids events around BC. She also traveled with her sisters to such places as New Zealand, Australia, and a train trip to Nova Scotia. Mom created a welcoming home wherever she and dad lived which included Ucluelet, Summerland, Sudbury, Delta and Hope.

We would like to thank all the staff at Ellen Sinclair Kennett Lodge for taking such good care of our beloved mother. She was our mother, guide and protector of all. Cry not for our loss, but rejoice for all she was and forever will be.

A celebration of life for Shirley will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Crossroads United Church, 7655 120 St, Delta, BC.
