Charles Frederick Baer

Charles F. (Charlie) Baer, age 76, of Somerset, passed away, Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Anita (Jarvis) Baer for 56 years.

Born in Clinton, a son of the late Charles and Edwina (Brookes) Baer, he previously resided in Clinton, and later moving to Somerset with his family. A graduate of Clinton High School, class of 1958, he was an IBM Manager at Raytheon for forty years retiring in 2005.

Charles loved his family, especially his grandchildren; he enjoyed traveling, playing cards, Bocci and NASCAR. He served on the Board of Directors for the Swansea Ambulance and was also a Swansea EMT and a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Town of Somerset. Charles also served as the Vice President and later the President of the Somerset Little League.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Sharon M. Cabral and her husband Michael of Bristol and Kim M. Sumner and her husband Michael of Warren; a son, Brian C. Baer and his wife Carolann of Fall River; a brother Raymond Baer of TX; four grandchildren, Adam Cabral and his wife Amanda, Stacey Lombardo and her husband Drew, and Tyler and Cayden Sumner. He was the brother of the late Carolyn Andrejczyk, Kenneth Baer and Ronald Baer.

His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 9:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, MA 02777. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, 2 Woodlawn Street, Clinton, MA 01510.Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Relatives and friends invited.
