Frances M. Silvia

Frances M. (Richmond) Silvia, age 88, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Clifton Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Daniel Silvia, Jr., to whom she had been married for the past 58 years.

Born in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Alton M. and Helen F. (Conant) Richmond. Frances was a proud graduate of Bridgewater High School, Class of 1955. Fran was first and foremost a homemaker, but also worked in several area business and offices.

Frances was an avid reader, tennis and golf player. She was a member of the Touisset Country Club, Coles River Tennis Club, Somerset Raquet Club, and the Swansea Library Women’s Book Club. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her family and friends, who brought her immense pride and happiness.

In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by her loving daughters, Nancy L. Barboza and her husband Robert of Rochester, and Melinda Campbell of Biddeford, ME; her cherished grandchildren, Jane Gagnon and her husband Nate, Dr. Mary-Lee Gifford, and Abigail Jordan and her husband Brandon; and her adored great-grandchildren, Reid Jordan, Emmitt Gagnon, and Scarlett Jordan. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Nancy Burke of North Carolina, and several nieces, great-nieces, and nephews. She was the sister of the late Alton Richmond Jr.

Her Christian funeral will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Notre Dame Cemetery Chapel, 1540 Stafford Rd, Fall River, MA 02721. Relatives and friends are invited. Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea
