

Gerard M. Connor, “Jerry,” age 66, of Swansea, passed away, Sunday, May 18, 2014 in Charlton Memorial Hospital unexpectedly. He was the husband of Nancy (Anger) Connor to whom he has been married for the past 45 years.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Gerard J. and Patricia Ann (Morgan) Connor, he had been a resident of Swansea for over 45 years.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, he attended Bristol Community College. He took courses in psychology and human services and was C.P.R. and First Aid Certified.
He was a support advocate at Life Stream in Fall River, prior to that he was a residential staff member in area group homes. Mr. Connor had a special place in his heart for all the people with disabilities he worked with over the years and earned numerous awards and accolades for his work, advocacy and generosity.
A devout catholic he was a communicant of the former St. Michaels Church where he coached C.Y.O basketball. He also coached for the Swansea Independent Baseball League. He enjoyed sports and music trivia, and loved all eras of music especially the 60’s and 70’s.
An avid sports fan of the Red Sox, Celtics and the New York Giants, he enjoyed watching Providence College Basketball. He enjoyed donating to local charities that supported children in need.
Mr. Connor loved the holidays and cherished times spent with family sharing cookouts, clam boils and most of all dining out with his daughter and son-in- law. He will sadly be missed by his beloved dog “Pumpkin” who he loved to spend time and walk with.
He was the father of the late Gerard S. Connor and is survived by his daughter: Dorothy K. Connor-Medeiros Esq. and her husband Thomas G. Medeiros of Swansea, three brothers: Michael Connor and his wife Gail, Edward Connor all of CA, James Connor and his wife Martha of Fall River, six sisters: Marybeth Librera and her husband Thomas, Patricia Connor, Maureen Rogers and her husband Robert, Kelly Connor all of Fall River, Kathleen Thomas and her husband Said and Kimberly Humason and her husband Kevin of Dartmouth and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Joseph W. “Jay” and William Connor and Colleen Bayrouty.
His Funeral will be held on Friday, May23, 2014 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardner’s Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardner’s Neck Rd., Swansea.
