

Jamie Tavares, “The Heart Break Kid,” age 44, of Swansea, passed away October 16, 2016. Born in Fall River, a son of Richard Tavares Sr. of Swansea and the late Anne Marie (St. Pierre) Tavares, he had been a lifelong resident of Swansea.
Jamie was a member of the Laborers Union local 610, Fall River for the past five years. Prior to that, he was a member of the Laborers Union local 271, Providence, Rhode Island for fifteen years.
During his youth he enjoyed playing baseball for Swansea Little League. He loved music, motorcycles, his sons, family, and friends.
In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons, Jamie Clinton Watkinson of Swansea; Jamie’s mother Sharon Watkinson-Williams also of Swansea and Tyler Kole Rodrigues of Fall River; Tyler’s mother Fatima Rodrigues also of Fall River; one sister, Melanie Arruda of Swansea, three brothers, Richard Tavares Jr., and his wife Christy of Fall River, Kevin Tavares of Swansea, Michael Tavares of Fall River, and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 8:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Burial private.
