

Born in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Oscar F. and Olive S. (Lindsay) Holman.
Jean graduated from Walpole High School and worked for many years as a Telephone Operator for several companies: New England Telephone, Wrentham State School and MCI Norfolk.
In her spare time, Jean enjoyed many forms of crafting such as quilting, knitting, counted cross stitch and creating pieces made of stained glass. Jean enjoyed travelling, most notably to Poland on her honeymoon with Paul. After retiring, Jean dedicated her time to caring for her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Jean is survived by four children, Barbara J. Potter of Norwood, Andrew H. Potter of Franklin, David B. Potter of Walpole and Ruth A. Atchison and her husband Jack of Franklin; two grandchildren, Jake A. and Kayla J. Atchison; six siblings, Carl F. Holman of Boxborough, Martha A. Wheeler of Walpole, Beverly S. Andersen of Sandwich, Cynthia Cole and her husband Robert of Glastonbury, CT, Elinor L. Thieme and her husband Kevin of Plymouth and Nancy R. LaMotte and her husband Barry of Brockton as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jean was the sister-in-law of the late Karl Andersen, Robert E. Wheeler, Christine Holman, James Gibson and Russell Gibson.
Her visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 10:30AM to 12:30PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:30AM in South Walpole United Methodist Church, 1886 Washington St., South Walpole, MA 02071. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011. Burial private.
