Karen F. (Ramos) Riendeau, age 71, of Barrington passed away April 1, 2026, with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife of Timothy J. Riendeau to whom she had been married for the past 51 years.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of John M. Ramos, and the late Geraldine (Mendes) Ramos. She grew up in Swansea, graduating from Joseph Case High School in 1972. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude with Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Education from Bridgewater State College and Sacred Heart University, respectively. She dedicated 36 years to special education, teaching students in Catonsville, Maryland and Ledyard, Connecticut. Karen deeply affected the lives of many children across multiple generations.
She lived in Maryland and Connecticut before coming home to Swansea and then Barrington after retirement.
Karen had a talent for cooking, a green thumb in the garden, and a knack for shopping the best deals. She was active, vibrant, deeply caring, and effortlessly generous. Karen would notice what others needed before anyone asked. She found her own greatest joy in the time she spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she is survived by her son, Tadhg, her daughter, Nicole, her son-in-law Patrick Mastan, her grandchildren, Patrick and Niamh Mastan, her sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Jose Llorens, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Christ Church, 57 Main Street, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited directly to church. Burial will be private.
Memorial visitation will be held Friday, April 10, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea.
